These guys are pretty good on the gender roles stuff. They need a little help on this subject though. Be kind in your responses.
Agreed. Later in the same episode they even criticize egalitarians for the same logic.Good find.
They start out with an honest conclusion that the OT did not forbid it, regulated it, and even designed it to benefit women in a dangerous world.
They then lose it when they claim that modernity, progression of culture and unnecessity of it as time moves on and makes the prohibition of it “evident”. That’s kind of the same method used to promote feminism, homosexuality and matriarchy. It’s the opposite of a conservative theological/hermeneutical approach.
I posted a few long comments breaking down the entire video. These guys are pretty good on the gender roles stuff. They need a little help on this subject though. Be kind in your responses.
Of course "progreassion" has made husbands a thing of the past! They then lose it when they claim that modernity, progression of culture and unnecessity of it as time moves on and makes the prohibition of it “evident”

You are absolutely spot on! One of the things I noted in one of my comments, is that they talk about sibling marriage (and cousin marriage which is never forbidden in Scripture), but then they practically want to do away with the entirety of the OT! We don't find ANYTHING in the NT that says that a man cannot marry his sister!Of course "progreassion" has made husbands a thing of the past!
The fertility clinic, artificial insemination, police and welfare programs mean women no longer NEED men to have children, food, and "protection" (if you think ten minutes away when you need them is good enough) and that other thing, being loved and cherished? Hook up culture and no strings relationships can "scratch that itch."
NOT!
But there you go with that "mystery of lawlessness" they sit in the temple of God, but do they bow to His wisdom and praise His law like David did? No! They erase them and call them un needed. Like modern so called doctors that remove your parts that they didn't design, don't understand, and can't fix.
David wrote in Psalm 19
7The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Amen and Amen!
You can even read Corinthians in the New Testament and get the idea from the added footnote that says "Own virgin daughter" that it is OK for a man to marry his daughter! We don't find ANYTHING in the NT that says that a man cannot marry his sister!
That is so sad and it breaks my heart! You can even read Corinthians in the New Testament and get the idea from the added footnote that says "Own virgin daughter" that it is OK for a man to marry his daughter!
Without going back to the "Old" Testement, where it says that a man cannot marry a woman AND her daughter or granddaughter because it is WICKEDNESS. What is there to correct that messed up footnote that exists because people are out of touch with the culture that let a man have MAID SERVANTS (his own virgins) and marry THEM (PLURAL) if he chose to. Though it says he does better if he keeps his virgin.
My father in law spent the last over 30 years of his life in prison for believing that footnote....or rather for acting on that belief with his daughters.
Ironically...he didn't believe in polygyny....so then that shows his thinking stopped at a stupid point. That verse he justified his actions with said "They sin not, let them MARRY!" ...not just use her until she leaves home.
The fall out and damage goes on for generations. That is so sad and it breaks my heart!
This is something that seems to escape the attention of many when they reference God and the Bible; there is no record of blessing for sinning nor any punishment for obeying. The first Psalm is quite explicit where it says, Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night (Ps. 1:1-2). The sames is set forth in Deuteronomy 11:26-28, “Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today; and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God.The fall out and damage goes on for generations.
It is heartbreaking.
This is why He told fathers to teach their children, not how to win playing a sport or video game (my father in law taught his sons many practical skills and an exceptional work ethic...and zero video games!) But they are to teach their children His law. The only way to live blessed is to abide in those moral boundaries He set.
please tell me you are against daddies WITH daughters.... but then where is the prohibition either in NT or OTYou can even read Corinthians in the New Testament and get the idea from the added footnote that says "Own virgin daughter" that it is OK for a man to marry his daughter!

Lev 18:6 None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD.please tell me you are against daddies WITH daughters.... but then where is the prohibition either in NT or OT
That's the whole point! We DO have a specific prohibition against it in the OT, and thus we do not entirely disregard the OT, since there is no such restriction found in the NT.But if the OT is nullified where is the NT prohibition? The death of the savior fulfills the requirements of The(now "old") Testament and opens the way for a NEW Testament.
In the old testament there is a verse people like to ignore imo because of the plural aspect. It tells a man he cannot marry a woman AND her daughter, or her daughter's daughter.please tell me you are against daddies WITH daughters.... but then where is the prohibition either in NT or OT
