I wanted to share something that just made me and my youngest son laugh. I almost put it in the random comments, then thought that perhaps others might want to share chuckles....or insights.

I am busy in the kitchen churning butter with a blender and our 2 year old little girl painting with watercolors at the table asked "Mama, where'd my mommy go?"

Of course a while ago I enjoyed a 2 week trip to visit our daughter ...with my husband....and her sweet mommy held the home front even with a nasty bug making the rounds and a new calf to feed and new cow to train for milking. She was not alone, and our daughter stepped up and helped with laundry, meals, dishes, and milk processing/butter making too. A trip of that length would not have been enjoyable without ...not just an adult, but a parent at home.

Now back to the butter! This batch will probably be 5 pounds when done.

This is the sort of practical nuts and bolts advantages to polygamy and by extension more adults in the family that I think would change more minds.
It simply more practical and allows for more infrastructure for the family.
 
My sisterwife's daughter is three now. The following conversation happened this morning while snuggling.

Kidlet said "You're a little bit ugly"
So I said something like "Why is that?" Kidlet says "'Cause you've had lots of birthdays"

It is truly a privilege to be claimed and called "Mama Joween" by little people that honestly love you....even if you're a little bit ugly. *grin*

Well, never take it personal. Those who know you in person know of your inner and outer beauty (with all due respect to the Mr.).

Hahaha, reminds me of something we still laugh about. Many years ago, one of my daughters was sitting on her grandmother's lap looking intently at grandma's face. With sweet innocence kido asked, "Grandma, why do you have big cracks in your face?" :)

My mom got told by a little girl at a school "Your wrinkles look good on you!" Lol
I also remember getting to know a woman named Nona Mir. They were not Muslim, but her husband's family came from folks who's country was conquered by Muslims, and it was a strategic decision to change their name that probably meant the difference between life and death. When I met her she had lots of "big cracks" in her face, but I also saw pictures of her and her husband Joseph when they were young and very handsome. So the price we pay for living into our 90's is wrinkles....and that doesnt sound like a bad deal at all!
Our oldest son loves my mother, but would not, even 25 years ago, (he's 29 now) say she was pretty. Kids are honest, and I appreciate that. A while back that same three year old was upset because instead of giving her what SHE wanted, I repeated my instruction to her (go get a shirt on). She slammed that bedroom door, and i could hear her through it and all the way to the other end of the house say "Stupid mama Joween" so I took the paddle in there and let her know I love her too much to let her talk that way about the grown ups here. She has sure never held any correction against me. ...I already knew that children don't.
