I think I would rather have more of the cheaper meat even if it was non-organic, than organic carbs, but I am in the "There are no cave paintings of cave-men hunting salads" group.

The psychology to the whole thing is very interesting.

When approaching a mixed set, you introduce yourself to the men first. You want to come across as a fellow man. You do not want to slink around and try to pick off women when the men in their group are not looking, or something like that.

The women want to move up in status and men set the status. To be respected by other high value men is the pinnacle.

It always fascinated me that in the military the wives automatically and without exception sort themselves by their husband’s rank. Their social chain of command is every bit as rigid and at times brutal so the actual military.

I never had a good framework to put that in but I’ve decided that what women value more than anything is their access to male violence. Everything women seem to value in men are the things that signify their status with other men. It’s still a half formed idea in my mind but I think it has merit.

That’s why if you can’t raise them yourself, you buy in bulk and freeze. Buying full or half shares is much more economical.

At creation God gave Adam and Eve only plants to eat. Later on, he gave mankind meat as well. To me this seems like we should probably eat both. I am a big gardener, so I might be biased.

Blogger and commentator "Vox Day" Theodore Beale has a whole complicated male social sexual hierarchy.

He breaks men up into these categories.
Alpha, Bravo, Delta, Gamma, Omega, plus Sigma and Lambda

People frequently ask him about the female equivalent.

He says there is no comparable system system for women. Women's hierarchy is largely dependent on the status of their man.

I think social status is one of the main things hindering Western women from embracing polygamy. Sharing a man might reduce their social status. On the other hand sharing a high status man can sometimes be preferable to having a low status man of your own.

More importantly, traditional patriarchal polygamy simply isn't done in our society. Engaging in it would make one a social pariah. Women will do almost anything to avoid becoming a social pariah.

If polygamy was socially approved, then women would be much more open to it.

id say more that all structuring (in the widest possible sense) is protected eventually by the threat of violence. if you have no capacity for violence, you can't protect anything.

Hmmm.... is that why so many western women are open to divorce? And, come to think of it, why so many accept homosexuality.

Sin has social approval, but polygyny isn't sin so no approval. Yeah, that makes sense.

I was shocked to discover how important social acceptance was to my own wife while discussing polygny. The idea of sharing was not an issue. The social stigma was. And, she felt the full weight of the social stigma when friends of hers called for her to divorce me. Offered to give her a place to live etc. Lovely friends....

Thank God she is not in the same mental space as she was back then....
