Hmmm
Entering a private space
Utilizing the speaking privileges of that space
Not paying to be on that private space
Complaining about rules in that space
Still not contributing financially to the space
Protesting removal from the private space
Insisting private spaces must endow the privileges of public spaces
Sounds like some blue haired snowflakes. Greta would be pleased.
Mojo, I get this point. It is valid to point out the privately owned aspect of the forum BUT! This forum is a PUBLIC facing forum based on the premise of being focused on the biblical view of families. The forum claims to advocate for bible based concepts and ideals surrounding the topic of marriage.
It is our bible based conversations that are being moderated away because some powerful voices and admins advocate for ignoring bible concepts that lead many of us to believe in the patriarchy. Explaining how we come to believe that is verboten. I posted in this thread a list of bible verses showing why we believe the commandments of God are the foundation of our beliefs and did so without any chiding or condemnation toward others. That post was deleted.
That is the frustration that many of us feel around this issue. I am NOT claiming that we should have the freedom to blast others into believing the same way we do. I do not believe that it is our job to force anyone to believe anything. The bible says that the word of God is perfect for converting souls. - Psalms 19:7
I do believe that the word of God supports the idea of us being obedient to his ways
according to our understanding of it.
For example, those that do not believe that they need to keep sabbath, because they do not yet see that they should, that
if I am correct that it is a sin, that sin
would be considered a sin of ignorance for them and
it will be covered by the Day of Atonement sin offering done by the High Priest. That is his mercy at work for all of us that are in him.
This means that many of us will be doing things correctly in one area and incorrectly in another area as we learn and grow in our knowledge of God.
Obedience does not imply that we know all things already. Obedience means that we obey that which our eyes have been opened to seeing.
That is God's mercy at work.
We are taught to search out the scriptures to know God. We are to test everything and learn of him and his ways.
I believe strongly that
there will be those of us that thought we were doing things correctly and when full truth comes,
we will be humbled to discover that we were not doing some of those things the way God intended us to. But for those of us whose hearts are humble before him,
he will pardon us because we will immediately begin doing his will once it is revealed too us.
That shows our love towards him.
I do not believe that Myself or anyone else on here is the Oracle that everyone needs to bow down and follow. We are fellow believers and
I am sure we are getting some things wrong also. It is pride that would make us think that we know it all.
That said, the scripture does teach us to sharpen each other as iron sharpens iron.
Pro_27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
I quoted OT just now so this post may not last long... I pray though that you see this and understand where I am coming from.
Shalom...
