Biblical Families is not a dating website. It is a forum to discuss issues relating to marriage and the Bible, and to offer guidance and support, not to find a wife. Click here for more information.
Yeah I like to read the story of the lost sheep in its context. The Pharisees we see in verse 1 were making a big deal over the fact that Jesus was eating and drinking with publicans and sinners. We read elsewhere in Luke's gospel of a Pharisee who thought Jesus was not a true prophet, because a true prophet would know that the woman who was washing Jesus' feet with her tears, was a sinful woman. They could not comprehend that the Messiah would knowingly associate with such people. Jesus is giving the reason WHY He was doing so. The third parable He gave, was the parable of the Prodigal Son, and the older brother was a parallel to those Pharisees who were not like the younger brother who had run off and spent his inheritance on prostitutes. We would all hope to not marry an adulterous woman.
I like what Andrew Amelang said at one of the retreats when asked which wife was his favorite. His response was "the one who is giving me the least guff at the moment." That ties into what @Joleneakamama and @steve posted here. We men want peace in our home so that we can focus our efforts on our conquest for the mission God has given us.
