The answer is clear - the Father in Heaven gave the husband zero roadblocks within his own household if he wishes to pursue multiple wives.
Go through the entire Bible - the wife has zero authority or veto power when it comes to her husband adding wives. The Father in Heaven’s instructions are perfect (Psalm 19:7), and they are holy and righteous. His ways are higher than our ways. The only party with veto power is the girl’s father (Exodus 22:16-17).
Paul said “Let every wife have her shared husband.”
Women back then knew they had no authority in terms of their husband choosing to add wives. Men tend to age like wine, and they know if they are wealthy most likely they will eventually add wives. So is it not better to help their husbands find an additional wife - someone whom they get along with - versus a complete stranger?
When the modern Christian reads these passages - of wives offering their husbands additional wives - they surely think how foolish can they can be! However, what is foolish is the hypocrisy. Praying “Your will be done, Father” but at the same time rejecting his will. Taking advantage of a power and authority the world gives, but the father never instructed or commanded. No different than the homosexuals taking advantage of the world’s recognization of their abomination-able marriages. Most women and homosexuals both take advantage of what the world offers to them. But you can’t drink from the cup of demons, and from the cup of the LORD. Women worldwide need to repent from the power Lucifer is offering them, and start trusting in the ways of the Creator.
